National STI campaign launch

Hey, STIs happen

Over the last 10 years rates of syphilis has tripled and gonorrhoea have doubled. In response, the Family Planning Alliance Australia is launching a national digital campaign to address the pervasive issue of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and combat their rising rates across Australia.

This campaign aims to dismantle the misconception that the absence of symptoms negates the need for testing, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the importance of early detection. Additionally, the campaign strives to alleviate the apprehension associated with a positive STI result, which often serves as a significant deterrent to initial testing.

The twelve-week campaign serves to encourage routine testing and provides information about accessing services post exposure, in a bid to help reduce transmission rates within the community.
